Four staid,successful Minneapolis business moguls invested jointly in a hunting lodge deep in the Northern woods,and thither they were wont to repair for a fortnight twice a year. “Roughing it is
what we want,”they would tell their wives,“no hot water,no modern conveniences―and above all no women!”One September the four deserted ladies decided to surprise their husbands and followed them to their woodland lair. They were stopped at the gate,however by a wizened old guide. “You gals better beat it quick if you know what's good for you,”he advised. “This time these fellows brought their wives with them!”
富も権力もあるミネアポリスの大物４人が、北部の森深くに共同で狩猟用山小屋を購入。毎年２回２週間そちらへ修理に行くのを常としていた。「俺たちがやりたいのは不便で厳しい生活さ」４人はそれぞれの妻に言ったものだった。「お湯はないし、衣食住の便利な設備もない。とりわけ、女性は１人もおらん！」ある年の９月のこと。見捨てられた４人の奥様方は、突然出掛けていってびっくりさせてやろう思い、森林地帯まで夫達を尾行した。しかしながら、奥様方は門のところでしわくちゃのガイドに止められてしまう。「ギャルの皆さん、自分に相応しいことが分かっとるんだったら、直ぐに立ち去るのじゃ」彼は助言した。「今回は、あの人達は夫婦連れなんじゃからのぅ」
